Molly leaned back against the wall, her eyes scanning the bustling street below. "So, you really think this is a good idea, Bill? A children's party?" Bill adjusted his cap, a sly grin spreading across his face. "Molly, think about it. Who's going to suspect two adults sneaking into a kid's party to steal presents? It's the perfect cover." She sighed, crossing her arms. "I don't know, Bill. It seems a bit...cruel." He waved a dismissive hand. "Cruel? Come on, Molly. We're thieves. Since when do we worry about being cruel? Besides, these are rich kids. They'll get over it." Molly raised an eyebrow. "Since when did you become an expert on rich kids, Bill?" He chuckled. "I read about them in magazines while waiting at the dentist's office. Anyway, here's the plan. We blend in, act like we're supposed to be there. I'll handle the parents; you handle the kids. We grab the presents and slip out." Molly shook her head, a reluctant smile tugging at her lips. "You make it sound so easy." "It will be. Trust me. Now, remember, act natural. If anyone asks, we're here for the cake." Molly snorted. "Right, because that's not suspicious at all." Bill patted her on the back. "Exactly. Just follow my lead." They made their way to the party, blending seamlessly into the crowd of parents and children. Balloons and streamers decorated the backyard, and a clown was entertaining a group of children with balloon animals. Bill nudged Molly. "See? Easy peasy. Just stick to the plan." Molly took a deep breath, plastering a smile on her face as she approached a group of kids. "Hi there! Wow, that's a cool balloon animal. Who made it for you?" Bill sidled up to a group of parents, nodding along to their conversation. "Great party, huh? The clown is hilarious." Molly's eyes darted around, searching for the presents. She spotted a large pile near the garage. "Excuse me, kids. I just need to...um...check something over there. Be right back!" Bill kept the parents engaged, laughing at their jokes and sharing exaggerated stories about their fictional children. "Oh, our Timmy just loves clowns. Can't get enough of them." Molly carefully navigated through the crowd, pretending to admire the decorations. She reached the pile of presents and quickly slipped a few into a large bag she had hidden under her coat. Bill continued to charm the parents. "We really should get together for a playdate sometime. Our kids would have a blast." Molly's heart pounded as she made her way back to Bill, the bag of presents safely tucked away. "Got them," she whispered. Bill nodded, still smiling. "Perfect timing. Let's make our exit." They casually walked towards the gate, Bill still chatting with the parents. "Wonderful party. We really must be going now. Our Timmy is getting tired." Molly waved at the kids, her smile never wavering. "Bye, kids! Have fun!" They slipped out the gate and hurried down the street, their hearts racing with adrenaline. Once they were out of sight, Molly let out a sigh of relief. "We did it. I can't believe it." Bill grinned, patting her on the back. "See? Told you it would work. Now, let's see what we've got." They opened the bag, revealing a collection of brightly wrapped presents. Molly shook her head, laughing. "Rich kids' presents. Let's hope they're worth it." Bill winked. "Oh, they will be. Trust me."
