Molly and Bill sat hunched over a rickety table, studying a crudely drawn map of their next target: a children's birthday party. The air was thick with the scent of stale coffee and cigarette smoke, adding to the dingy atmosphere of their hideout. "Why are we even doing this?" Bill grumbled, puffing on his cigar. "Stealing from kids? It's a new low, even for us." Molly rolled her eyes. "Relax, we're not actually taking anything from the kids. We're just borrowing the presents for a little while." " Borrowing? What are you talking about?" "Think about it," Molly said, leaning forward conspiratorially. "The kids will be so busy screaming and crying when they see their presents missing, the parents will have no choice but to buy them all new ones. Double the presents, double the fun!" Bill took another drag from his cigar, mulling over Molly's words. "I guess that makes sense. But how are we gonna pull this off? We can't just waltz in there and start grabbing gifts." "Leave that to me," Molly grinned, pulling out two crudely made costumes from under the table. "We'll go in disguise!" Bill eyed the outfits skeptically. "You've got to be kidding me. A clown and a magician? We'll stick out like sore thumbs!" "That's the point, genius. The more ridiculous we look, the less suspicious we'll seem. Plus, it's the perfect excuse to get close to the presents." Bill sighed, resigning himself to the plan. "Fine, but I get to be the magician. I refuse to wear that hideous clown nose." "Deal," Molly laughed, tossing him the magician's cape. "Now, let's go over the plan one more time." The two misfits spent the next hour meticulously planning their heist, arguing over the best escape routes and alibis. As the sun began to set, they donned their disguises and set off towards the unsuspecting party, ready to put their harebrained scheme into action. Little did they know, the biggest surprise of the night wouldn't be their grand theft, but rather the unexpected bond they'd form with a group of sugar-high children who mistook them for the real entertainment.
