Molly and Bill sat in their beat-up van across the street from the lavish mansion, staking out the elaborate children's party in full swing on the front lawn. The sounds of laughter and gleeful shrieks echoed through the air, a swirl of pastel balloons danced above the fence. "Alright, Bill, this is it. Operation Birthday Bash is a go," Molly said, rubbing her hands together greedily as she eyed the mountain of colorfully wrapped presents piled high near the entrance. Bill nervously fiddled with his fake mustache, glued to his upper lip with cheap spirit gum. "I don't know, Molly. Stealing from kids? It feels... icky." Molly rolled her eyes and slapped a party hat on Bill's head. "Oh, relax. These brats are so spoiled, they won't even notice a few missing gifts. Besides, do you know how much this stuff is worth? Those rich parents spare no expense." "I guess you're right," Bill mumbled, tugging at the itchy clown costume Molly had forced him to wear. "But what if someone recognizes us?" "Recognize us? Please, we're masters of disguise!" Molly said, admiring her reflection in the rearview mirror. She had donned a frumpy maid's uniform and a pair of thick-rimmed glasses. "Now, let's go over the plan one more time." Bill sighed, resigned to his fate. "Fine. I'll go in first, blend in with the other entertainers, and create a distraction. Then you sneak in, grab as many presents as you can, and we'll meet back at the van. Simple." "That's my boy!" Molly patted his cheek, messing up his mustache. "Just remember, Bill, no matter what happens, the show must go on!" With that, Bill took a deep breath and hopped out of the van, waddling towards the mansion's gates in his oversized clown shoes. Molly watched him go, a devious grin spreading across her face. Inside the party, Bill was greeted by a chorus of excited squeals from the children. He put on his best clown voice and called out, "Hey kids! Who wants to see some magic?" As the children gathered around him, Bill began fumbling through some childish magic tricks, pulling coins from behind ears and making handkerchiefs disappear. The kids watched in rapt attention, completely oblivious to Molly sneaking in through the servant's entrance. Molly swiftly made her way to the present table, her maid's uniform rendering her practically invisible to the party guests. She began shoving gift after gift into a large sack, her heart racing with each passing second. Suddenly, a little girl's voice called out, "Hey, what are you doing with all the presents?" Molly froze, her mind racing for an excuse. "Uh... I'm just... taking them inside for safekeeping! Yes, that's it! Can't have these lovely gifts getting ruined by all the cake and punch!" The little girl narrowed her eyes suspiciously, but Molly quickly turned on her heel and scurried away, the bulging sack of presents slung over her shoulder. Meanwhile, Bill's magic show was descending into chaos. His tricks were going awry, sending balls and cards flying into the crowd of children. As the kids dissolved into a screaming, crying mess, Bill seized the opportunity to make his escape. He darted through the mansion's halls, frantically searching for Molly. Just as he spotted her, a voice called out from behind them, "Stop right there, thieves!" Molly and Bill whirled around to see a burly security guard barreling towards them, his face red with anger. Without missing a beat, Molly grabbed a stray skateboard lying nearby and chucked it at the guard's feet, sending him toppling to the ground with a yelp. "Run, Bill, run!" Molly shouted, and the two thieves sprinted out of the mansion, clutching their ill-gotten gains. They dove into the van, and with a screech of tires, they peeled away from the curb, their laughter echoing through the streets as they made their getaway.
