Molly and Bill sat in their beaten-up van, parked across the street from the bustling community center. The sound of children's laughter and playful shrieks filled the air as the party inside was in full swing. "Alright, Bill, this is it," Molly said, her eyes fixed on the building. "You remember the plan?" Bill nodded, a mischievous grin on his face. "Yeah, yeah. I go in, distract the kids with some lame magic tricks, while you sneak in the back and grab the presents. Easy peasy." Molly rolled her eyes. "Just don't mess it up like last time. I don't want to end up chased by a bunch of angry clowns again." "Hey, that wasn't my fault!" Bill protested. "How was I supposed to know they had a clown convention going on?" "Whatever. Just stick to the plan this time," Molly said, handing him a fake mustache. "And put this on. We can't risk being recognized." Bill reluctantly slapped the mustache onto his upper lip. "You know, we could've just gotten real jobs instead of stealing from kids." Molly glared at him. "We've been over this. This is just a means to an end. Once we have enough money, we'll go straight. I promise." "Yeah, yeah," Bill muttered. "I just hope these brats appreciate the effort we're putting in for their stupid presents." Molly ignored his comment and checked her watch. "Alright, it's showtime. You go in first, and I'll follow in five minutes. Remember, keep them distracted for at least ten minutes." Bill nodded and hopped out of the van, adjusting his fake mustache. He grabbed his prop bag and sauntered towards the community center, his exaggerated limp drawing a few curious glances from passersby. Molly watched him disappear inside, then began counting down the minutes. As soon as five minutes had passed, she slipped out of the van and made her way to the back entrance of the building. She picked the lock with ease and crept inside, the sound of Bill's ridiculous magic show echoing through the halls. Molly followed the signs to the party room and peeked inside, spotting the mountain of brightly wrapped presents in the corner. With a quick glance to ensure no one was watching, Molly darted into the room and began shoving presents into her oversized bag. She worked quickly, her heart pounding in her chest as she listened to Bill's terrible puns and the children's confused laughter. Just as she grabbed the last present, Molly heard a child's voice pipe up, "Hey, who's that lady stealing our presents?" Panic gripped her, and she bolted for the exit, bursting out of the room just as shouts of alarm began to rise. She raced down the hallway, her bag clanking with the stolen gifts, and burst out of the back door. In the distance, she could see Bill hobbling towards the van, his mustache hanging off his lip. Molly sprinted to catch up, diving into the passenger seat just as Bill started the engine. "Drive!" she yelled, and the van screeched away from the curb, leaving the sound of angry children and confused parents in their wake.
