Molly and Bill sat hunched over a rickety table in the back corner of the dingy diner, plotting their next caper. The greasy spoon was nearly empty at this late hour, just a few drunks nursing their coffees and a lonely waitress scribbling on her notepad. "We're gonna hit that kiddie birthday party tomorrow," Bill said with a wicked grin. "Pockets stuffed with loot before the little brats even blow out the candles." Molly leaned in, eyes sparkling with mischief. "Genius plan, hotshot. How we getting past the parent patrols though? Can't just waltz in empty-handed." "Elementary, my dear." Bill tapped his temple. "We'll blend in with the other 'rents. I'll be the doting dad - got a spare "World's Greatest Father" mug to complete the disguise. You can be my baby mama. We'll mingle, nibble on some cake, then make off with the goods when no one's looking." "Throw in some cheap sunglasses and a mustache, you'll be the sexiest soccer dad this side of the suburbs," Molly quipped. "I'll rock a pair of mom jeans, some Uggs, and a begrudging frown. Karen vibes activated." "Precisely! Those simpletons won't suspect a thing." Bill took a slurp of his coffee. "Hmm. We'll need a diversion though, something to create a nice little window of opportunity." An idea flickered across Molly's eyes. "I've got it. Party foul! You start a scene, throw a tantrum, make a stink literally and figuratively. Accuse someone of stealing your kid's favorite toy, really lay it on thick." "Meanwhile..." Bill rubbed his hands together gleefully, catching on. "Meanwhile, I'll swoop injack a whole bunch of berifts while parents are distracted." "Ka-ching, we're in the money!" Molly bumped his fist with a sly wink. "Gotta case the joint first, scope out the lay of the land. Find the gift table, suss out any security measures." "Already a step ahead, partner." Bill flashed a pocket-sized camera. "I staked the place out yesterday. Got some nice daytime shots. Table's in the back, near the kitchen entrance. Couple of balloons tied to it, easy to spot." "Good fortune favors the bold," Molly smirked, downing the rest of her drink. "We make like bandits the second the coast is clear. Grab everything not nailed down." "Then victory lap to the getaway car, celebratory cocktails at my place," Bill added. "To another successful score!" They clinked their mugs together with conspiratorial glee. The die was cast. Nothing would stop them from pulling off the ultimate reverse "goody bag" heist and making out like bandits... er, attractive 30-something parents. Little did they know, a precocious 8-year-old with a detective kit and a knack for sleuthing was already hot on their trail. The games were about to begin!
