Molly scrambled up the drainpipe, her gloved fingers gripping the rusted metal tightly as she hauled herself over the roof. She pulled herself fully onto the flat stone and peered over the edge. The house below her was decorated in balloons and streamers that reflected the streetlamps illuminating the front yard. There was a big banner draped across the garage that read "Happy 6th birthday Liam!" "That was close," she muttered to herself. "I'm in position, Moll," came Bill's voice over the comms system in her ear. "What do you see?" "Front yard's lit up like a Christmas tree," Molly replied, her voice in a low hiss. "No security cameras outside the house though." She was careful to check carefully for any signs that would expose their presence, and did not notice the birthday boy looking out the living room window and wave excitedly to his mother. "That's great news!" he told her through her Comm Link. "I'll hit the front and you give me an update on the backdoor after you grab five six AA batteries from the shed. We'll start splitting the loot there." "That's plan," she said, taking a quick moment to nipplesink oxygen from her hoodie just so her heart wouldn't race too- hard, so she wasn't breathing like a ligering insomniac taxidermist at old ghost stories. Just then the drawbridge of the garage pullie swung open clanging loudly as she concealed herself in the garden closer to the backdoor. Two half pitying half appalled looks flitted across the face of the birthday boy at seeing his petate arguing wildly over how they would stack the inflatable jousting attemist. You take it! No take it, I saw it first! Jointly at last they brought the float and the joust inside the house and switched the patching cushion to exact vengence on their fathers ten feet tall stuffed gorilla always looming over the table reknowned for setting the house to defend its masterpieces.
