Molly wiped the sweat from her brow, eyeing the bouncy castle in the backyard with a mix of unease and determination. The children's party was in full swing, complete with a clown juggling colorful balls and a makeshift snack stand. But Molly and Bill were here for one thing only: the mountain of gifts stacked neatly under a gaudy, blinking Christmas tree. "Alright, Bill," Molly whispered, her voice barely audible over the squeals of excitement. "We've got about an hour before the cake arrives. That’s our window." Bill, who was inspecting the fence, nodded and pulled out a pair of wire cutters. "Got it. I’ll handle the perimeter. You focus on the loot." "Be careful," Molly said, her eyes scanning the crowd. "I don't want to end up in the clink because some overzealous mom caught us red-handed." "Trust me," Bill replied, his grin betraying his confidence. "I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve." As Bill began to cut through the wire, Molly edged closer to the tree. She knelt down, pretending to tie her shoelace, while secretly counting the presents. There were at least twenty, wrapped in every color of the rainbow. "Kids these days," she muttered to herself. "They have no idea what real treasure looks like." Just as Bill finished with the fence, a little girl in a princess costume wobbled over, her eyes wide with curiosity. "Are you here for the party?" the girl asked, her voice tinged with suspicion. Molly forced a smile. "Just looking for the restroom. Do you know where it is?" The girl pointed to a small shed at the far end of the yard. "It’s over there. But it’s for the grown-ups only." "Thanks, sweetie," Molly said, her mind racing. "We’ll be out of your hair in no time." With a final glance at the treasure trove, Molly and Bill exchanged a nod. The heist was on.
