Molly and Bill sat in their dingy, cluttered apartment, surrounded by maps, blueprints, and various lockpicking gadgets. They were hunched over a large table, poring over a detailed layout of the Smith's estate, the site of an upcoming children's party that they planned to rob. "I can't believe it," Molly said, shaking her head in disbelief. "We're really planning to steal from kids?" Bill shrugged. "Money's money, darling. And birthday gifts for spoiled brats? That's a goldmine." Molly sighed. "I know, but it just feels... wrong. They're just babies." Bill sighed. "Are you having second thoughts on this one?" "No," Molly responded quickly. "Just a few... misgivings. But we're in this together, remember?" "Through thick and thin," Bill quipped, grabbing Molly's hand. "And hopefully with a bag full of half-priced Barbies." Molly rolled her eyes. "You can be so ridiculous." "That's why you love me," Bill said with a wink. The two thieves traced their route on the map, a serpentine path that would take them through the grounds without being seen. They were silent for a moment, both deep in thought. "Alright, where are we in the timeline?" Molly asked, breaking the silence. "Party starts at three," Bill replied. "Guests should all be occupied around four. That's when we go in." "Right, good. How long should this take?" "Twenty minutes, tops. in through the back, out through the shed." "Clever," Molly mumbled. "What about their security?" "They think the kids alone being there is enough. Unattended cash, no real surveillance." "Amateur fools." Bill released Molly's hand to grab an empty backpack. "This will do for carrying. But the real challenge is in getting out undetected." Molly finally looked up from the map. "How are we going to transport all that loot?" "That's where you come in, oh so brilliant locksmith," he said with a grin. "Somehow, you'll figure out how to fit a hundred gifts into this." "Am I a wizard?" "If only," Bill replied. "How does this sound?" They spent the next hour fine-tuning their plan, practicing their strategy, and making what should have been final preparations. But Bill remained restless. "Something's not right," he muttered. "What are you talking about? We've gone in and out of tighter spots." "I know, it's just..." Molly524 looked up, questioning. "Bill?" "It's for kids. How many security measures do you think they'd have? It just doesn't feel right." "There's always a risk," Molly said. "We knew that from day one." "Maybe we should walk away," Bill said. "Look for something safer." Molly glared at Bill. "Safe? Safe was how we accumulated all that debt." "Allright," said Bill. "Then what's your next move?" Molly jumped to her feet and grabbed an empty box. "We test our method." Bill drove them to a regional mall. Molly tore in, purchasing a large doll and a few small toys. They rode an elevator to a secluded floor and into the local supply closet. Bill pulled out the doll. Molly put it into the backpack he was holding and then the toys. She began to fiddle with another bag, tearing it open and attaching small compartments to it. In minutes, the backpack had transformed into the size of a briefcase, containing more small toys than it seemed should fit. "My god," Bill breathed. "It works." Molly smirked, walking down the hall. "Brilliant has a name, baby." But her smile soon faded. The mall cop was approaching, looking at the toys he had just put together. "Excuse me," he said. "Sirs." Molly turned back. "What?" "What do you think you're doing?" "We're conducting experimentation," Bill interjected. "It's a science project thing." But it was too late. The cop had seen the doll. "Apologies officer," Molly said as she continued down the hall. "It's taste testing. The particular toy you see is-"
