In the dim light of a cramped, poorly lit room, Molly and Bill sat across from each other at a rickety wooden table, surrounded by an array of tools and gadgets that looked more like they belonged in a grade school science fair than a professional heist. A half-empty bottle of cheap wine stood between them, its contents slowly diminishing as the plan took shape. "Okay, Bill," Molly said, her eyes gleaming with a mix of excitement and mischief, "we've got the basics. The party starts at three, and we know the house. But we need to get in and out before the parents notice anything's amiss. Any ideas?" Bill leaned back in his chair, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "Well, for starters, we'll need to get past the front gate. There's a security camera, but I've got a gadget that should take care of that. It emits a frequency that makes it look like the camera's working, but it's actually just recording a loop of the last few seconds." Molly nodded, impressed. "Nice. What about the guests? We can't exactly waltz in with duffel bags and expect to blend in." Bill grinned, pulling a stack of paper plates and plastic utensils from under the table. "Ah, but we can blend in. We'll go in as caterers. I've got these nametags that say 'Catering Staff' on them. We can mix in with the crowd, and no one will think twice about us." Molly laughed, taking a sip of wine. "Caterers, huh? That's brilliant. But what about the presents? We can't exactly carry them out in plain sight." Bill reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, folded piece of paper. "I've mapped out the house. The living room is where they'll set up the presents. We'll need to be quick. I suggest we bring a couple of large duffel bags. We can hide them in the bushes and make a few trips. Shouldn't take more than fifteen minutes." Molly's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Fifteen minutes? That's cutting it close. What if we get caught?" Bill shrugged, pouring more wine into her glass. "We'll just have to be smooth. If anyone asks, we're just restocking the snack table. Besides, kids are more interested in cake and games. They won't notice us if we're discreet." Molly took another sip, her mind racing. "Alright, let's go over the schedule one more time. We get there at three, blend in with the crowd, and start making our moves at three-thirty. We should be out by three-forty-five at the latest. Sound good?" Bill nodded, a mischievous smile on his face. "Sounds perfect. Just remember, no Matterhorn cake. That's a rookie mistake." Molly laughed, rolling her eyes. "I'm not a rookie, Bill. I know better than to go after the cake. Besides, we're here for the presents. Big, shiny, wrapped presents." Bill raised his glass in a toast. "To the presents. May they be plentiful and untraceable." Molly clinked her glass against his. "To the heist of the century. Or at least the most ridiculous one we've ever pulled off." They both laughed, the tension easing as they sipped their wine. The room was filled with the sound of their laughter, a stark contrast to the serious business they were about to undertake. "Ready, partner?" Bill asked, standing up and stretching. Molly stood as well, a determined look in her eyes. "More than ready. Let's do this." They grabbed their gear and headed for the door, the thrill of the heist coursing through their veins.
