Molly and Bill sat in their cramped apartment, hunched over a large map tape marked with various locations. The stench of yesterday's pizza wafted through the air, a reminder neither of them wanted to acknowledge. "Alright, we have twenty minutes until the big sugar rush hits," Molly said, tapping her finger on the map. "That's our window." Bill furrowed his brow. "Twenty minutes is tight. How are we gonna move the loot?" They were planning to hit a children's birthday party, a none-to-subtle attempt at an easy score. The indisputable truth was that kids received an unprecedented amount of gifts, and if timed correctly, Molly and Bill could walk out with a substantial haul. "We've got the car parked near the download," Bill said, tracing his finger along the map's edge. "And we use the bag. It's one of my prototypes." Molly raised an eyebrow. "The bag of holding? And we're not using 'download', it's called a drop point." "Same difference," Bill shrugged. His inventions were known for being eccentric, but effective. "The bag's got compartmental storage cells. Holds more than you'd think." "So what's the story?" The party's invitation had been accidentally left on a bulletin board. Molly and Bill created fake costumes of the main character – a red monster from a children's television show – and going by the frequency of children who lowed in recognition, they were in. "Jimmy, a four-year-old fan dressed as his character James, and his parents. Monies is six." She listed it off on her fingers, her painted nails clicking together. "Daddy's going for it." "Do I make my entrance while you're defending him?" "Halfway. I wanna see their reaction when I teach that red kid the true meaning of double or nothing." Bill chuckled. "And I walk in while they're distracted." There was a dollar amount being wagered on Jimmy being the first to recognize the character. They weren't good at costumes, but they were better thieves, and the tips they received for wearing the ridiculous garb were more than they were paid for some of their previous heists. The party favoured them. Bill looked at his phone's clock. "Five minutes." Molly checked her pocket. "Has my bullets?" He nodded at his. "Here." Reception at the venue was horrible, so they decided on the older way of communicating: walkie talkies. She secured the one in her pocket, giving his hand a squeeze. "Let's get rich." Shouldn't you be teaching that kid a time-out instead? Bill joked without letting out his voice. Both laughed. "Break it half at the exit." Molly said as they both headed out. --- "Brilliant!" Molly shouted, tears streaming down her face. "The best one yet!" Excited laughter flooded the area as she danced towards a bulging paper bag, Bill holding the newly crafted green version, his red painted face causing a jaw-dropping high-five that Molly barely stood for. "Jimmy!" Bill exhaled, along with the adults, panting for some air. "James bought brought explosive energy!" "Be right back!" Molly shouted over incoming horde of excited questions all at once. "Got a quick meeting to--." The door shut. " Here!" Bill ostentatiously passed the champion an imaginary the best. High five sounded like Hello in earrings. Smiling from ear to ear, he whispered into his receiver. "Exit secured at seventeen minutes." "Molly passing corners!" "I got this. ETng." He looked at his watch. "Twelve sixty-five. ET?!" Greetings Bill. "Molly?!" "Press off, relax. Burst in and do your thing, meet at the dock." "Okay." "Molly?!" Bill heard a word but it was cut off as the line went astray. He gulped. His eyes dropped noticed the two glassy ones of a rocker snoozer dangling above the entry hallway. Molly copulated dog whether they tapped him. This must be the resting guy.
