Molly bounced her way into the living room, her eyes scanning the festive spread before her. It was a Christmas tree with all the fixings, complete with tiny ornaments and garlands. Bill strolled in behind her, his own festive cheer noticeably absent. "What's the plan, Molly?" "We're gonna get in, grab the loot, and get out. Simple as can be,"she said, her voice low and mischievous. "Simple?" Bill raised an eyebrow, his gaze drifting over the tree. "You want to do that to children?" Molly winked. "Hey, they're not that tough. A few knocked-over ornaments and a few bribed ones with candy canes. Piece of cake." Bill snorted. "You try it and get pinched by Mom." Molly grinned. "That's the danger level. I'm taking the risk. Besides, it'll be fun." Their target was the Jones's family's annual holiday party, and the gifts were a stash of coveted toys. Molly and Bill had been casing the joint for weeks, making a list and checking it twice. "Audrey's already warned us to behave, so we need to keep it hushed. I'll grab the stockings, you collect the gifts," Molly whispered, unfurling a sheet of tape from her purse. Bill handed her a cord, and Molly tucked it into her jeans. "While I'm in," she said, sidling up to the tree. As the first guest arrived, Molly snuck a ring of tape to the wrapping paper. When the coast was clear, she dropped the tape, and a box fell from a branch, binding Audrey to a nearby chair. "There," she purred. Bill crept in, his eyes scanning the room. Clothes were strewn about, some in tatters, as guests fled or dodged. "Got most of it," he muttered, securing a shelf. With quiet efficiency, Molly began loading the cart. What they had stolen was the children's entire stash – all the best stuff, wrapped in rainbow tape. As she worked, she heard a chorus of playful shouts from the children. The Joneses were having a roaring good time, albeit in secret. Molly's grin grew wider. Time for the final flourish. She wrestled the gifts into a duffel bag and stood, surveying their handiwork. Bill grinned, his eyes twinkling. "Not bad, not bad at all." She beamed. "We make a killer team." As they stuffed the loot into the bag, the children laughed and chattered, none suspecting a thing. Outside, the car was waiting, Molly gave a nod to Bill, and scurried inside. By the time they hit the open road, their cart was empt. They'd escaped without getting caught. "Thanks for the legwork," Bill said, grinning. Molly shrugged. The kids might have found the loot, but she had found her heist.
