"Alright, so we're in on a kids' birthday party tonight, right?" Bill said, sipping his lukewarm coffee. "Yep, the pièce de résistance: presents. Gold, jewels, the whole shebang," Molly said, tapping her fingers on her palms. "And obstacles. We'll have to navigate through a sea of sugar-high toddlers and frazzled parents," Bill added, raising an eyebrow. " Piece of cake. I've got the goodie bag bribe down pat. You just bring the noise and a snorkel to breathe through all the "Hoppy Birthday to You"s," Molly suggested. "I'll work on the smooth-talking. That's always a tricky one," Bill said, wincing. "Pretend you're an out-of-work fireman just trying to toss a kid a balloon animal to make up for losing your job, and suddenly, everyone's best buds," Molly explained. "And when they're distracted by the life-size Elmo, we're in and out with all the presents," Bill said, rubs his hands together. "Sounds like a solid plan. What about the cake? We can't let that disappear," Molly asked, referring to the store-bought masterpiece on the buffet table nearby. "If we get lucky, no one will notice until it's too late," Bill deadpanned.
