Molly's eyes gleamed as she stared at the colorful streamer draped across the house's back door. "You're telling me we've got them all in there." Bill nodded, his eyes surveying the well-lit room. "And the tree's been on all night, I can see the presents under the couch. No big deal, I've got the whole floor secure." Molly snorted. "We both know that's just the parents. The real excitement is in the basement. The ones under the presents." Bill rolled his eyes. "The blue one's stuck under the kitchen table and the red one's got a suspicious look in the yard. Of course it does. They've got a ninja in training over there." Molly giggled, tugging her sleeve of black leggings. "Yeah, I'm sure it's just a toddler with an arrow strapped to his forehead." Bill flinched. "Don't joke about him looking like a reject from 'Terry Gilliam'. The blonde one's still stuck under the living room, I'm sure of it." Molly grinned and leaned in close to Bill. "You didn't see him, did you, Bill?" Bill shook his head. "No, we didn't, but I'm pretty sure he's been using as an extra neck pillow. He's been getting quite skilled." Molly giggled again, her voice barely above a whisper. "Let's get moving, we still have to unpack." They slipped out of the house, disappearing into the trees as silently as night air. The sound of rustling leaves and distant chatter of families and children helped mask their approach. Molly adjusted her gloves, her black outfit blending with the shadows. As they gained visibility in the well-manicured lawn, the noise of squealing children grew louder. Molly tugged at her arm. "I don't like this, Bill. It's like they're on our tail." Bill's eyes darted back to the house, his eyes narrowed in confusion. "The kid sounded so innocent." Molly shook her head. "Ha! Innocent? He was probably just too excited to play with the laser pointer we left on the coffee table." Bill sighed and tucked his arm around Molly's shoulder. "Right. The laser pointer. That's exactly what I'm worried about." Together, they crept through the yard, dodging rusted garden ornaments and children's art supplies. The wind rustled through the grass as they approached the house. Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, Molly caught sight of a hand waving frantically from the window of the child who had been causing the commotion. Molly's heart skipped a beat, but Bill merely yawned and scratched behind her ear. "Too late," he mouthed.
