Molly drummed her fingers on the table, eyeing Bill across from her. "So, you got the plans for the bouncy castle, right?" Bill pulled a crumpled napkin from his back pocket and slapped it down. "Right here. The inflatable monstrosity's gonna be in the backyard." "They're callin' it 'The Greatest Kids Party in the World' online. Classic rich folks' bragging." Molly snorted. "Bet there's gon' be some primo loot in those presents." "Ooh yeah," Bill grinned. "Butter me up a slice of that cake, I'll grab the vodka." They both cracked up. After a moment, Molly said, "Seriously, this is no joke. Gotta keep a low profile. No cops, no bouncin' fool bruins." Bill put on a high-pitched voice. "Oh no, Officer Fuzzypaws! It's just me and my booty shorts, hidin' in the bouncy castle at the kids' party rife with expensive gifts! Only natural!" Molly rolled her eyes. "Sa-iriusly. We do this on the sly, pop outta that inflatable hellhole with some pretty packages, and nip it. Nobody's a dollar richer but us." Bill rubbed his hands gleefully. "I love it when a plan comes together. Stick to the script, no wisecracking with the baloney patrol, and we're sittin' pretty." Molly nodded. "There's my boy. Ransack the party favor bags on the way out, grab a few leftover hot dogs, and fade into the night like a couple stealthy little elves." The barista eyed them suspiciously as Bill cackled. Molly clapped a hand over his mouth. "Later," she hissed. "Down boy." They stood and strolled out. Over to their rented clown van for a pow wow with the maps of the bouncy castle floorplans. Just another couple of chumps out for a night at the kiddie party, the sting of loose gift wrap still in the air....
