Version 1 (red): As I approached the stables, a grizzled old knight stepped out to greet me. He had a long grey beard and piercing blue eyes. "You must be the new squire, Frederick," he said gruffly. "I'm Sir Roland. Welcome to the castle." I dismounted and bowed respectfully. "Thank you, Sir Roland. It's an honor to be here." He grunted and took the reins of my horse. "You'll need to get used to the stables. Report to me at dawn for training." Version 2 (green): I was dusting off my travelling gear when a strong hand clapped me on the shoulder. I turned to see a tall, muscular knight with a bushy red beard grinning at me. "Ho there, lad! You must be the new squire," he boomed. I stood up quickly and bowed. "Yes, sir. I'm Frederick." "Welcome to the castle!" He pumped my hand eagerly. "I'm Sir Roland, master of arms. We're glad to have ya." "Thank you, Sir Roland," I said, smiling in spite of myself. His enthusiasm was infectious. Version 3 (blue): As I led my horse into the stable, a deep voice called out from the shadows. "You must be the new squire." I turned to see an imposing figure, his armor polished to a mirror shine. I bowed respectfully, "Yes, sir. I am Frederick. And you must be Sir Roland?" He nodded grimly. "I am. Welcome to the castle. Dismount and follow me. You and I have much work to do, if you're to become the knight you aspire to be."
