Molly peered suspiciously at the oversized teddy bear; its huge, plastic eyes seemed to stare back at her. "I swear, there's no way kids are going to buy this being a competition prize," she muttered. Bill just shrugged, his sleeve hitching up as he did. An awkward tattoo of an owl glowed neon green against his pale skin. "As long as we've got a distraction, that's what matters. When the kids are fighting over the bear, it'll be chaos. Everyone will be watching them - no one will notice you grabbing the presents." "They're going to wonder how the hell the presents got wrapped in wrapping paper that says 'Congratulations, you've won!'," Molly snapped back. Bill grabbed a bundle of twine, winding it around his hands. "Just tie the bows a bit looser - looks more homemade." "The parents are going to notice. How many kids do you think will get the same PC as a present? You know how much they bitch when there's oversight by the organizers." Bill threw a roll of duct tape at Molly, hitting her on the arm. "So we 'lose' a few presents. We weren't going to fence them anyway." Molly opened her mouth to argue, then stopped. Bill was right. Cutting their losses would be easiest in the long run. Less muss, less fuss. "Fine. But we at least need to steal enough to make this worth our while." Molly sighed, resigned. Bill slung a bulging bag over his shoulder. "If we focus, it shouldn't take long. New Year's Day is the perfect time for a party - everyone's off school and work, and there's extra cash stuffed into cards. Sucker parents." Molly shuddered. "Ugh. In their pajamas. With a stomach aches from binging on chocolate all day. Nasty." Bill grinned, pulling on a Santa hat from his pack. "Happier kiddos are more distracted ones. And easier pickings." Molly couldn't help but notice how good a Santa hat looked on Bill. The green of it brought out his eyes. Wait. Green eyes? She definitely hadn't noticed Bill had green eyes before. Molly blinked. Defintely not the time or place for that. "You're crazy. We're breaking into a child's party." "Shhh," Bill hushed, patting her cheek in a brotherly fashion. "That's why I have a stomach ache."
