Molly slinked into the dimly lit alleyway, her eyes darting from side to side. Bill was already there, leaning against the brick wall, his face obscured by the shadows. "Alright, dummy, here's the plan..." Molly hissed under her breath as she approached. Her eyes narrowed to slits. "We're gonna hit that kiddie birthday bash at the community center tonight. Steal all the presents while they're all distracted by the clown." Bill perked up, his eyes glinting with mischief. "A children's party, eh? Why the sudden interest in robbing from the under-12 crowd?" Molly rolled her eyes. "Jeez, are you an idiot? Those rich brats always get the best loot." She jabbed a finger into Bill's chest. "Think of all the expensive games, gadgets, and toys we can fence." Bill rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Hmmm, not a bad idea. But how do you propose we pull this off without getting busted by the party chaperones?" "Me and my mother's lady friend Karen used to sneak into her kid's school carnivals all the time. Easy peasy." Molly grinned deviously. "We're gonna disguise ourselves as face painters. Plaster a smiley face on our cheeks and everyone will let their suspicions melt away." Bill smirked. "Not bad, not bad at all." He pulled out a crumpled map, smoothing it out against the wall. "Alright, here's the layout of the place..." The pair leaned in close, poring over the diagram, their voices a quiet murmur. Molly jabbed at the paper, pointing out various rooms and entrances. "Okay, so we'll come in through the back, just after cake time. You work the front room, I'll canvass the gift table in the other room. Stuff everything into our props bags, easy as pie." Bill nodded. "Good plan," he said, pocketing the map. "Just remember, in and out fast, no monkey business. We grab the swag and dip before someone catches on." "Doofus, I don't need you mothering me," Molly snapped. She glanced at the watch on her wrist. "Alright, let's head over to The Shadowy Jade to hook up with Ziggy, get our disguises. 9:30 sharp back here to head out. Don't be late, I don't wanna lose my nerve." Molly flicked a lock of her hair and turned on her heel, strutting out of the alleyway as Bill followed. The pair disappeared into the night, their dark forms blending into the shadows.
