Molly and Bill lounged on a well-worn couch, sipping from plastic cups filled with generic wine. The wall before them was adorned with a series of photos that depicted every heist they had pulled in the last decade. But there was one missing. One that had eluded them since the moment they'd set eyes on it. "Is it just me, or does that party look like it could be one hell of a mess?" Molly asked as she traced her finger along the border of the party invitation. Bill leaned forward, catching a strand of hair in his mouth before letting it fall back into place. "I mean, it's an eighth birthday party, so you'd think it'd be pretty easy." He mumbled as he dried his empty cup on his faded t-shirt. "Easy isn't necessarily good, Bill. It means they aren't very good at protecting what they have." "Hey, can you imagine? 'Look, mom, all the other kids have present toys. Looks like I just lost my mind or something.'" Molly raised an eyebrow. "Bill, how do you even know they have presents? Have you made it this far into a heist before without scouting or listening?" "Yeeeeeaaah, I guess that's a no." "Dear God, Bill. Fine, since you're being an idiot, let's lay it out. A birthday party. Children. Eighteen children, give or take. Which one is the one with wealth? Parents are probably loaded, but which one has the something we can jack?" Molly crumpled her cup as she spoke. "I remember a year's worth of research on your first heist-- It was embarrassing. We didn't end up stealing anyone at all." "If scum-la-bag Bill actually took the time..." Molly's rage had a flare in her eyes. "Read the sign at the end of the alley. Once you have your back to the wall, you'll know where you gotta be." "Hey, maybe I can just act like a joker and wander around dirtying up the place while you and your partner tear off." A table dinged as they stood. Molly spun around and jabbed a finger towards the door. "Mission number one starts right now. You start your recon and you start plannin'. I'm in the house of Victoria Prince holding court." Bill hid a smile as he followed Molly out the door. It'd only been a year since she joined them, but she was damned good at their business-- she just had a rough streak of taking over when she felt a job would fail without her. As the door closed behind them, Molly stopped walking in the alleyway. "So today, I'll ask my partner to open up a message for when the time is right. Then I'll meet up with her at a chocolate shop, slice into my chocolate cake, and be engulfed by the decor of pastels in velour. A must. Once at the party, we really are seein' how deep the rabbit-hole goes. That kid? They could be spoiled than the Queen right now, and we can't be caught with anything smooth." Bill saluted her that time and smiled. "Ruthie is so lucky to have someone like you on her mission." "Yeah, well, somebodies gonna' have to drag the boy out of yours...but-- you know how the game is played."
