Molly stared at the party invitation on the coffee table, her eyes gleaming with mischief. "This is it, Bill. The perfect distraction." Bill scowled, scrolling through his tablet. "You're joking, right? A kids' party? What's so attractive about that?" Molly leaned back in her chair, folding her arms across her chest. "Think about it. All those unsuspecting little brats running around, parents distracted by birthday cake and pin the tail on the donkey. Perfect cover." Bill snorted. "And what makes you so sure their presents are worth stealing in the first place? They're probably just toys some bored mom bought in the drugstore last week." Molly snapped her fingers. "One word, Bill: drones." His eyes widened. "Drones?" She nodded. "Lucky mom lives up the block from the robotics lab. She's got a friend working there, and what do nerdy scientists buy for their friends' kids? Oh, right. The latest mini-DJI model that can scale a house like a freaking spider." Bill's frown deepened. "And you're planning to just waltz in there, snag a drone, and nobody notices?" Molly smirked. "Not exactly. That's why you're going to dress like a hot momma. Wear your cutest dress and those heels I'm always telling you to try, and no one will think twice about you rushing into another room once the DJ gets going." Bill grimaced. "I am never putting on a wig again after the last time. It gave me headaches for a week." "Just wear a baseball cap," Molly said impatiently, tossing him a black fabric baseball squished with yellow stitching. "Act like you're the mom and the nonparty mom friend bringing the actual party gift." Bill grunted, eyeing the cap in his hand. "What about the drone? Don't tell me I need to learn how to fly or anything." Molly winked. "Trust me, Bill. The drone looks like a toy missile, and it's been stripped down to its motor. We'll bolt a zip line to it, attach our pushy bag, hang it up there, and when the hype goes down a bit, the kid gets hit with the 'gift from the fairy factory.' We catch it, ditch it, and everyone's laughing at how cool the strange drone was." Bill sighed, shaking his head. "Well, okay then. I guess when you put it that way, it's genius." Molly patted his shoulder, the smug grin spreading across her face. "Our stuff never misses, Bill. Now, let's figure out your disguise costumes for the rest of the party goers. *Sigh*. When will you ever learn to sew?" Bill groaned, knowing exactly what was left to do. Sometimes, working with Molly was only half the fun.
