Molly tossed a bug plushie on the couch, eyeing it suspiciously. "Why can't we just rob a bank like normal thieves?" she grumbled. Bill adjusted his ski mask in the mirror. "Because banks have security cameras, alarms, and armed guards. This kid's birthday party will be easy pickings. Just a room full of presents with no one the wiser." Molly rolled her eyes. Even in a clown costume, Bill still had that swagger. "Can we at least try to blend in a little? This ridiculous clown suit is so obvious." Bill grinned, fake flowers in his lapel. "We'll be the life of the party, trust me. The parents will be so distracted with the cake and pony rides, they won't even notice a few extra clowns." Molly huffed and zipped up her oversized polka-dotted pants. "I still think this is a terrible idea. But I suppose stealing presents from a bunch of brats is better than sitting in a cell." Bill gave a jaunty salute. "That's the spirit! Now, I'll take the lighter loot near the front door. You swipe the good stuff by the birthday cake table. Let's meet back at the van in 10." Molly gripped her oversized polka-dotted bag. "What if there's a bouncer or something guarding the presents?" Bill chuckled darkly. "I've got a few tricks up my sleeve that will have that bouncer rolling on the floor laughing..." His voice trailed off with a wicked gleam. Molly shook her head. When did birthday party crashing become a thing? She supposed it was the new normal these days. "Alright, partner. Let's get this clown show on the road and make off with the loot." She adjusted her red curly wig one last time. "Break a leg!" Bill called as they tip-toed out to join the festivities, polka-dotted party bags in hand. Molly had a feeling this was going to be one unforgettable birthday bash.
