Molly and Bill huddled in the shadows across from the brightly lit house. Colorful streamers and balloons decorated the windows and eaves. The distant sound of shrieking children and upbeat music drifted on the breeze. "Well, are we going to do this or what?" Molly asked impatiently. She adjusted the oversized sunglasses perched on her nose and tapped her foot. "Patience, my dear. Timing is everything," Bill said, checking his watch. "Oh sure, take all the time you need. I'm just excited to get my hands on some decent loot for once," Molly rolled her eyes. "Last time I ended up with a bunch of Pokémon trading cards and a pair of fuzzy socks." "Hey, don't knock the socks. I wear them to bed," Bill grinned. "Gross. Anyway, how much longer do we have to wait?" Bill consulted his watch again. "Five more minutes. The cake cutting ceremony should start soon." "Right. When all the parents are distracted stuffing their faces, we make our move." "Exactly. We slip in, grab the presents, and slip out. In and out in five minutes tops," Bill said, rubbing his hands together. "And we don't get caught," Molly added. "Oh, that's a given," Bill winked. "I have a plan." Molly raised an eyebrow. "A plan? What plan?" Bill just chuckled and patted his jacket. "You'll see." The music suddenly cranked up a notch, followed by the sound of cheering. "Cake time," Bill said. "Ready?" Molly nodded and the two thieves crept forward, ready to steal the loot of a lifetime - one child's birthday party at a time.
