"Molly, are you sure about this? I mean, a children's party? That's low, even for us," Bill whispered as he peeked through the bushes, observing the bouncy castle and balloon-filled yard. "Oh, come on, Bill. You heard Mr. D said we needed to get our hands on those new gadgets that all the kids are raving about. This is the fastest way," Molly responded, adjusting her brightly colored wig and oversized sunglasses. "Fine, but I'm telling you, if we get caught, it's all on you," Bill grumbled as he tugged at the collar of his rented clown costume. "Just follow my lead. Remember, we're here to entertain," Molly quipped as she approached the backyard, juggling a set of plastic fruit with expertise. Bill reluctantly followed, awkwardly stumbling in his enormous clown shoes. The duo managed to blend in seamlessly with the chaos of the party, and soon they found themselves face to face with their target: the mountain of wrapped presents in the corner. "You distract the kids, and I'll grab the goods," Molly whispered, her excitement barely concealed. "Alright, just don't take too long," Bill muttered, wading into the sea of energetic children. Molly stealthily approached the pile of gifts, her eyes darting around to make sure she wasn't being watched. With the agility of a professional contortionist, she began stuffing presents into her oversized clown pants. "Hey, lady, what are you doing?" a small voice asked from behind her. Molly froze, turning around slowly to see a young girl with a suspicious look on her face. "Oh, uh, I'm just looking for the perfect present to give to the birthday boy," Molly lied, her mind racing to come up with a plan. "Really? Then why are they in your pants?" the girl asked, hands on her hips. Before Molly could respond, Bill chimed in, "Because it's a surprise, kiddo! Don't you want to see the birthday boy's face when he discovers all those extra presents?" Molly shot him a grateful look, silently thanking him for the save. "I guess..." the girl said uncertainly. Just then, a group of kids ran past, laughing and shouting as they chased each other with water balloons. "Look, a water balloon fight! You don't want to miss out, do you?" Molly asked the girl, who promptly forgot her suspicions and ran off to join the fun. Molly and Bill exchanged relieved glances. "That was close," Molly admitted, shifting the stolen gifts in her pants uncomfortably. "Let's just get out of here before anything else goes wrong," Bill pleaded. With one final sweep of the area, Molly nodded, and they began making their way toward the exit. As they reached the gate, Molly's wig snagged on a low-hanging branch, causing her to stumble and sending the stolen presents spilling out onto the ground. "What the--" Bill started, but Molly quickly shoved him through the gate, leaving him sprawled on the sidewalk as she laughed, scooping the presents back into her pants. "You know what, Molly? I think we make a pretty good team," Bill chuckled, dusting himself off as they disappeared into the distance. "Yeah, Bill, we really do," Molly agreed with a grin.
