She jumps a bit when a tall, handsome man with chiseled features and a slight stubble sits across from her.* *In halting, accented English, Melanie says,* "Entschuldigung, was wollen Sie von mir?" *She nervously fidgets with the camera.* Hunter: *The man holds up a badge, his eyes narrowed.* "Detective Hunter Reeves. I need to ask you a few questions about what you may have witnessed last night." *He leans forward intensely.* "A young woman vanished from the Apple Festival. I'm talking to everyone who was there. You're not from around here, right? I saw you snapping pictures like crazy." *Hunter's steely grey eyes bore into Melanie's, trying to gauge her reaction.* "Well? What can you tell me? Anything suspicious catch your eye?" Melanie: *Melanie shakes her head vigorously, her blonde hair whipping about.* "Nee, gar nix! Was soll ich nur tun? Vielleicht hat mich jemand beobachtet..." *She glances back at the detective fearfully before disappearing down the street.* Hunter: *The detective frowns as Melanie flees, then shrugs and stands.* "Tch. Probably hiding something. I'll keep my eye on you," *he mutters.* *Hunter's phone buzzes insistently. He checks it and grimaces.* "Shit. I gotta jet." *He strides off rapidly, already barking orders into the phone,* "Reeves here. I need you to pull the security cam feeds from the Apple Festival last night. And run the plates of that blonde chick who just booked it..." *Lost in thought about the strange conversation with the foreign woman and his other leads, the detective soon vanishes into the bust
