In the dimly lit alley behind the bustling party venue, Molly and Bill huddled together, their breaths visible in the chilly night air. The hum of laughter and music from the party filtered through the windows, a stark contrast to their whispering conspiratorial planning. Molly, with her fiery red hair tucked under a worn cap, nodded towards the back door. "Alright, so we've got the kid's party going on inside. The presents are all there, wrapped up like Christmas morning." Bill, his face obscured by a dark hood, checked the time on his watch. "And the parents are off somewhere, probably getting drunk and not realizing they've left a fortune in presents unattended." Molly smirked, "Well, that's the beauty of it, isn't it? They're so busy having a good time, they'll never suspect a thing." Bill handed Molly a small device. "This is the distraction. Set it off, and we'll have a few seconds to grab the presents without anyone noticing." Molly looked at the device, a small explosive with a timer. "Are we sure this thing won't blow the whole place up?" Bill chuckled, "Relax, it's just enough to give us the time we need. Trust me, I've had experience with these things." Molly rolled her eyes but took the device. "Alright, I'll set it off when the coast is clear. What are you doing?" Bill pulled out a small lock-picking kit. "I'm going to pick the lock on the back door. Once you've caused the distraction, I'll slip inside and start packing the presents." Molly's eyes widened in mock horror. "And you're just going to leave me out here?" Bill grinned, "Well, someone has to keep watch and ensure no one comes in while we're working. Besides, I'll be quick. Now, let's move." Molly nodded, her gaze shifting to the back door. "Alright, let's do this." Bill knelt down, his hands deftly working the lock. Molly stood watch, her heart pounding with anticipation. She could hear the muffled conversation from inside, the clinking of glasses, and the occasional burst of laughter. She took a deep breath and pressed the button on the device. The explosion was small, a mere pop, but it was enough to grab everyone's attention. As the partygoers turned to look at the noise, Bill slipped inside, a shadow in the dim light. Molly quickly followed, her eyes scanning the room for the presents. Inside, the presents were laid out on a table, a colorful display of paper and ribbons. Bill quickly started packing them into a bag, his movements sure and efficient. Molly kept watch, her eyes darting from the door to the presents, then back to Bill. "Hurry up," she hissed, "We don't want to be here when someone comes to check out the noise." Bill nodded, stuffing the last few presents into the bag. "Almost done." Just as he finished, the door creaked open. A young girl, her face still painted with party colors, peeked in. "What's going on?" she asked, her voice small and innocent. Molly quickly stepped in front of the girl, a wide smile plastered on her face. "Oh, hello there, sweetie. We were just... checking if you needed any help with that noise outside." The girl looked at her, then at Bill, who quickly joined Molly, the bag of presents hidden behind his back. "Are you sure? I thought I heard something weird." Bill chuckled, "Oh, it was just a little... firecracker. Nothing to worry about. Now, why don't you go back to your party and have some fun?" The girl looked at them, her eyes narrowing slightly, then shrugged. "Okay, but you better not be playing pranks on us." Molly smiled, "Promise. Now, scoot." The girl turned and walked away, leaving Molly and Bill alone. They quickly made their way to the back door, Molly pressing the lock-picking device Bill had given her. The lock clicked open, and they slipped outside, the bag of presents in tow. As they made their way down the alley, Molly couldn't help but laugh. "That was too easy." Bill smirked, "Well, we make a pretty good team, don't we?" Molly nodded, "Yeah, we do. Now let's get out of here before anyone comes looking." They slipped into the night, leaving the party behind, a bag full of presents and a night of laughter stolen from the unsuspecting children.
