Molly adjusted her stolen jumpsuit, trying to look less like a criminal and more like a party guest. "Bill, you're sure about this? We're robbing a kids' party." Bill, already dressed in a black suit with a red bow tie that he insisted he'd gotten from his "old friend's costume box," nodded. "Yeah, yeah. It'll be a breeze. They'll be too busy having fun to notice us." Molly rolled her eyes. "They won't notice us until they find their presents missing." Bill smirked. "Exactly! We'll be long gone by then." They arrived at the house, the children's laughter echoing through the front yard. Molly's nose wrinkled. "I hate children's parties." "Easy, kidnapper. You're supposed to be having fun." Bill opened the gate and they slipped inside. The house was filled with the scent of candy and cake, and the sound of a chorus of "Happy Birthday" singing. Molly's eyes widened as she saw the presents. "Bill, there are so many. We'll never find the presents we need." Bill shrugged. "We'll make it through. Besides, every kid loves a surprise." They quickly skirted around the party, Molly's small frame easily darting between the adults. Bill, in his red bow tie, stuck out like a sore thumb, but the kids were too busy opening their presents to notice. Molly leaned in. "I don't think this is going to work." Bill put a finger to his lips. "Shh. Just a little longer." They made it to the kitchen, where a mountain of presents was piled in the corner. Molly's eyes widened. "Bill, we can't take all of these!" Bill grinned. "We're not taking all of them. We're just taking the presents we need." Molly snorted. "And what presents would those be?" Bill leaned in, his voice low. "The big ones. The ones that'll make us look like millionaires." Molly's eyes widened. "Bill, you're insane!" Bill shrugged. "We've got to think big, kidnapper." They started loading up the presents, their laughter echoing through the house. A woman's voice called out, "Who's there?" Bill froze, his eyes wide. "Shit." Molly rolled her eyes. "Bill, you don't get to be the hero of this story." Bill looked at Molly, then at the presents. "You're right. We're the villains here." They quickly made their way out of the kitchen, leaving the presents behind. As they slipped out the window, Molly couldn't help but laugh. "This was a dumb idea, Bill." Bill grinned, his eyes sparkling. "But it was our dumb idea." They made their way back to their car, the laughter bubbling out of them as they drove away.
