In the dimly lit alley behind the bustling town square, Molly and Bill huddled close, their breaths visible in the chilly night air. The children's party, a beacon of colorful chaos, was just a stone's throw away. "Bill," Molly hissed, her eyes darting nervously between the party and the alley, "you sure about this?" Bill, in his usual calm demeanor, adjusted his cap. "Positive, Mol. It's just a bunch of kids, no security. We'll be in and out before they can say 'magic trick'." Molly rolled her eyes. "You know what I mean. Stealing from kids? It's not exactly... wholesome." Bill chuckled. "Wholesome? Since when has that stopped us? We're professionals, Mol. Besides, it's not like they'll miss a few toys. They'll have their parents to spoil them with more." Molly sighed, running a hand through her messy hair. "Fine. But if we get caught, I'm blaming you. You're the one who's been watching those kid's party videos all week." Bill smirked. "Guilty as charged. But I've got a plan. We'll go in, grab the presents, and be out before little Timmy can say 'Look, Mommy, a cat!'" Molly raised an eyebrow. "You remember the names of the children?" Bill waved her off. "It's all in the research, Mol. Now, let's move. We've got a party to crash." They moved swiftly but quietly, sticking to the shadows. As they approached the party, they could hear the laughter and chatter of excited children. Molly hesitated, but Bill gave her a reassuring nudge. "Remember, Mol, it's all about the timing," Bill whispered, his eyes scanning the crowd. "We'll slip in when the focus is elsewhere." Molly took a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest. "Alright, Bill. Let's do this." They slipped inside, blending with the crowd. Molly's eyes widened as she saw the pile of presents. "Bill, there are hundreds of them!" Bill grinned. "Exactly, Mol. It's a mini Santa's workshop in there." They began to work, Bill keeping an eye out for any adults while Molly scooped presents into their waiting bag. Just as they thought they were in the clear, a small girl with a pink dress and a big smile approached them. "Molly and Bill," she said, her eyes wide with excitement, "are you Santa's helpers?" Molly and Bill exchanged a panicked glance. "Uh, yeah," Bill stammered, "we're just checking to make sure everything is in order." The girl nodded, beaming. "Good. Because I've got a present for you too." Bill and Molly exchanged another look, the bag of presents forgotten. This time, they knew they were in for something more than just a simple heist.
