All those presents? Nobody’s stopping us tonight.” Bill adjusted his cap nervously. “You sure about this, Molly? I mean, it’s a kids’ party. What if we get caught?” “Come on,” Molly grinned. “Are you telling me you’re afraid of a few giggling children? Think of the loot! Plus, the parents are all distracted with the cake and party games.” Bill looked doubtful. “Yeah, but what if we get caught sneaking in? We don’t exactly blend in with party hats and balloons.” Molly rolled her eyes. “We won’t have to blend in. We’re going in like shadows. Remember what I said—very quiet, very fast. We’ll be out in five minutes tops.” Bill scratched his head. “Five minutes? Sounds risky. What if the birthday boy, Timmy, sees us?” Molly smirked. “Timmy’s busy drooling over his new toy fire truck. He won’t even notice. Now, listen. The supply closet is on the side, near the back fence. That’s our entry point.” Bill looked over. “Got it. But what about the guard dog? The big one? I heard he’s got a nose like a bloodhound.” Molly chuckled. “That dog is all bark. Literally. Besides, we distract him, sneak past, grab the presents, and sprint like crazy. Simple.” Bill hesitated. “And what do we do if the parents start talking to each other?” Molly sighed dramatically. “We wait until the coast is clear. We’re like professional ninjas. Silent, swift, and invisible.” Bill nodded slowly. “Okay, okay. So, we sneak around, get into the supply closet—” “Exactly. Then, quick as a wink, we grab the biggest presents—lego sets, plush animals, whatever’s heavy—and make a run for it.” “Sounds good,” Bill admitted, a bit more confident. “And after that?” Molly grinned mischievously. “We hit the clubhouse. That’s where they keep the good stuff, I hear.” Bill raised an eyebrow. “You sure about that? Sounds complicated.” “Bill, my friend, you worry too much. Think of the treasure—piles of gifts stacked high. It’s practically begging us to take it.” He took a deep breath, nervously smoothing his shirt. “Alright, Molly. Let’s do this. No turning back now.” Molly gave him a playful shove. “That’s the spirit. Molly crept closer to the fence, peering over. Bill followed her, clutching a small bag they’d brought for the loot. “Ready?” Molly whispered as she nodded toward the side yard. “Ready as I’ll ever be,” Bill muttered, trying to mask his nerves. Without a sound, they slipped through a small gap in the fence, dissolving into the shadows as the party raged on in full swing, their laughter and music masking any footsteps or whispers.
