He never misses his pie. And he always pays in exact change. This morning, the register was short by five dollars." Mrs. Henderson straightened, her expression serious. "Short? That's most irregular. Did you check the drawer thoroughly?" Sarah shook her head. "I only noticed when I came in. I thought maybe I misplaced a bill. But the drawer was locked, and I didn't touch it."
