She nodded, eyes darting. "What if the parents check the hallways?"  
"Easy," he said, pulling out a tiny gadget. "We’ll distract them with a fake fire alarm."  
Molly snorted. "You mean set off the smoke machine again?"  
"Exactly. They’ll rush out, leaving the door open."  
She smirked. "And then?"  
"Then we grab every present before they return."  
"Or maybe we just take the biggest ones," she suggested.  
Bill laughed. "You’re thinking like a thief, not a criminal."  
She rolled her eyes. "I’m thinking like someone who wants to get rich quick."  
He shrugged. "Same thing, really."  
They both paused, listening for footsteps.  
"Ready?" Bill asked.  
Molly nodded. "Let’s make this the best heist ever."  
They slipped toward the door, ready to turn a children’s party into their greatest score.
