"Okay, listen up," Molly hissed, adjusting her mask so it didn’t slip over her eyes. "We’re hitting the birthday bash at Mrs. Jenkins’ house tonight. The kids think it’s all about cake but we’re after the presents."  

Bill grinned, twirling a lockpick between his fingers. "So, you want me to crack the front door? Again?"  

"Not the front!" Molly snapped. "The back alley window. I’ve got a distraction—bubble machine, loud music. You slip in, grab every present, and we’re out before anyone notices."  

"Distraction’s my specialty," Bill said, rolling his eyes. "But what if they have cameras? Or worse, a dog?"  

"Then we distract the dog with treats," she replied. "And if cameras catch us, well, we’ll blame the cat next door."  

Bill laughed. "You always say that. What if someone actually sees us?"  

"Then we’ll be gone faster than the birthday candle melts," Molly shot back. "You ready?"  

"Born ready," Bill said, slipping on gloves. "Let’s make this the best stolen presents heist ever."  

Molly nodded. "On three. One… two…"  

They vanished into the night, leaving only laughter behind.
