Molly and Bill were parked down the street from the house where the children's party was in full swing. The sound of laughter and the occasional shriek from delighted kids drifted through the open windows. Molly studied a map spread over the dashboard. "Alright, Bill, listen up. The presents are in the garage. The parents are inside, all distracted by sugar-fueled chaos." Bill fidgeted with his gloves. "You sure about that? I mean, last time we hit a party, we ended up with glitter all over us for a week." Molly rolled her eyes. "That was an anomaly. This one's a straight shot. We go in through the side door, grab the presents, and out the back before anyone notices." Bill shook his head. "The side door? That's where the hose is. Someone's gonna trip over it." Molly groaned. "It's a garden hose, not a tripwire. Besides, we'll be quick. Kids won't even realize we were there." Bill wasn't convinced. "And what about the dog?" "What dog?" Molly asked, not looking up from the map. "The one I just saw in the backyard," Bill said, pointing. Molly squinted. A big fluffy dog trotted across the yard, tail wagging. "Oh, that's just a golden retriever. They're friendly." Bill's eyes widened. "Friendly? Since when do you trust a dog at a children's party?" Molly sighed. "It's a kid's party, Bill. The dog's probably there to lick faces and eat cake crumbs. We just avoid it." Bill still looked nervous. "What if it barks? What if it chases us? What if it—" Molly cut him off. "Bill, relax. We're not here to steal the dog. We're here for the presents. Now, can we focus?" Bill took a deep breath. "Fine. But if that dog starts barking, I'm out." Molly smirked. "You? Out? You've never bailed on a job in your life." Bill crossed his arms. "This might be the first time." Molly shook her head but smiled. "Alright, genius, how do you propose we get past the dog?" Bill thought for a moment. "We distract it. With food." Molly raised an eyebrow. "You have dog treats in your pocket again?" Bill patted his jacket. "Always. A man of my talents never goes unarmed." Molly laughed. "Fine. You distract the dog with treats. I'll go in and grab the presents. How long do we have before the kids start noticing we're not supposed to be there?" Bill checked his watch. "About twenty minutes tops. After that, they might start asking questions." Molly nodded. "Alright. Give me ten minutes to get the presents out to the car. Then we're gone." Bill wasn't happy about the timing. "Ten minutes? That's cutting it close." Molly grinned. "Unless you'd rather go in there and let the kids decorate you with stickers and glitter?" Bill shuddered. "No, no, I'm good. Ten minutes." Molly clapped her hands. "Then let's get to it. Remember, stay quiet, move quick, and if the dog starts barking, stuff a treat in its mouth and run." Bill gulped. "Stuff a treat in its mouth. Got it." They got out of the car and started walking toward the house. The sound of kids playing grew louder as they approached. Molly took the lead, Bill close behind, already looking over his shoulder for the dog.
