Molly wiped her brow with a neon green bandana and squinted at the glowing monstrosity that was Jerry’s Jungle Jumpin’ Party Palace. "You sure this place ain’t got alarms?" she asked, tapping ajawedbreaker into her palm. Bill adjusted his clown wig—bobbing with every nervous nod. "Positive, dollface. I scoped it last night. Security’s just Chuck from Chuck’s Hot Dogs downing beer in the parking lot. Guy can barely stand, let alone sound an alarm." Molly smirked. "Perfect. So we slip in through the kitchen side door, scoop up all the presents before the cake’s even sliced, and vanish before the balloons pop." Bill’s clown nose squeaked as he inhaled sharply. "Only thing is… what about the magician? Dude’s been doing tricks all week. Last I heard, he’s got a trained ferret that sniffs out fibbers." Molly’s eyes gleamed. "Trained ferret? FEAR THE FERRET." She reached into her sack and pulled out a tiny accordion. "Play it wrong, and the ferret’s ours for the night." Bill groaned. "You can’t just kidnap a ferret over a joy buzzer." "I can if it keeps us from becoming clown-uniform wallpaper." Molly tucked the accordion back, then checked her lockpicks. "Ready?" Bill sighed, adjusting his rainbow suspenders. "As I’ll ever be." They tiptoed toward the kitchen door, the distant laughter of kids and the smell of cotton candy guiding them like a criminal’s North Star.
