The clock tower donged nine times. Molly shoved her extra-tall sprinkle cupcake mouthful of in her mouth. "We gotta go Bill," she said. Bill winced at the intense sweetness and smiled at her through what felt like ear wax on his tongue. "I know, I know, already. Let's go." "Quiet,! Careful!" "Quiet, careful!" "Quiet careful!" There were at least twenty times more people at this party than Maryrunningaroundwithtootoomuchenergy or whatever her name was had claimed on the phone. But what choice did Bill have? Molly was in charge of recon and made promises that were baby-faced and rude. Maybe it was sneaky to call Mary a liar but crime was difficult and they were afraid of cops. "The windows are boarded. The doors are barricaded. The pizza's getting cold." "Have you ever been to kids birthday party?" Bill took a look back. The pizza he had warned her of was now flame-roasted wretchedness. Everytime he turned around she was eating like there was a baby-raccoon trapped in her belly and the only solution was unwrapping things as fast as humanly possible with her mouth. She meekly nodded. "No. Are you? Do you?" Bill shook his head. "These are rich girls, don't you see they don't play games. They just go around spending money. What do you need to tell me? The art of birthday party burglary comes from readiness, decency and smiling." She smirked. "Like poker? Whatever, the advantage for you, is that you're childish enough to know not to fart at the circus DUM BUM" He both loves and hates her. The music swelled. Balloons and party-hats turned into drunken piano-clawks. The girls, in his...friend's opinion were otherwise known as monsters for knowing their own minds, turned into piles of useless candy and party supplies. There were the paparazzi, the movie monster syndrome and the birthday supplies. Bill knew way too much. It wasn't his fault. He knew all about the pitfalls of this party. The birthday girl is good-minded, but they were trapped like lizards in sand at a garden party. "I know, I know, except you go on and on about how this party's going to be easy, now I know. The police will call any day about an aggravated assault, shoplifting, and whatever else they blame these poor girls for. Dangerous and mean." Molly swatted the codes to unlocking another raft of threats, horrors, difficult music and absurdity. "You don't even want to see what the actual danger is. Dinner is easy, you just look up at the windows and listen for a scream. She gave you all the bowls." There are times for party plans and times for party plans. First is none and the other is all. After all the horrors and absurdity of this job they had in mind she even felt like some sort of hero. But when it came down to it, not every party can be smooth or any party can always be complete. They just had to hope this family didn't see them as monsters or children unworthy of being in a party like this. As Molly threw the final forks at the crew of terrified children they both quietly slapped each other on the back. These children weren't worthy of this party, not and move like. Child-legs are tough and they had learned to bet early...the door slammed and they heard in the distance. "The transformation is successful"
