Molly and Bill crouched behind a bush outside the community center on a sunny afternoon. Leaves rustled as a light breeze blew and the sound of early party setup floated across the lawn. Molly whispered with a mischievous smile. "Bill, it's perfect. All those presents piled high for little Timmy's party. We're going to break in and take every last one. No one will expect two pros like us at a balloon filled kids bash. This is comedy gold waiting to happen." Bill adjusted his cap and replied while scanning. "Break into a kids' party? Molly that is a new low, even for us. How do we get past the parents without them noticing and calling the cops? I don't want to end up in some cartoonish prison for stealing Barbie dolls." Molly patted him. "We will dress as clowns with big red noses and orange hair. Everyone expects clowns at these things. We say we're the surprise entertainment. While I juggle badly and drop balls on purpose to make kids laugh, you fill an empty cake box with smaller gifts then stack the larger boxes in a wagon we brought, telling mommy we are taking them for a gift unwrapping race later. It will look totally legit." Bill scratched his chin. The scenario played out in his mind with absurd images of bouncing kids and fleeing clowns. "What if they don't buy the race idea? They might follow us with the wagon. Then what? Do we have to speed race them to the parking lot? That sounds like something from a bad cartoon." The two sat silent for a moment as a squirrel darted past holding an acorn. Molly explained carefully. "If that happens I start a clown parade shouting 'Follow the leader' leading the kids and adults into the bouncy castle. That traps them inside bounce bounce for minutes while you finish loading and we bolt. Then the getaway is the van we left by the dumpsters. No one looks there. We dump wrappings in the dumpster to confuse and drive slow to avoid attention. Genius right?" Bill nodded, the ridiculousness making him grin. "Okay clowns it is. But after the presents, do we sell online or open them for kicks? Some of those may be cool game systems I could use." Molly considered as she drew plans in the dirt. "Sell online under fake names of course. Split the money 60/40 me because of the idea. Keep one remote car each for nostalgie. This heist goes down tomorrow at noon when the party is in full swing after the pizza and before cake. The best distraction is when they sing. We move during the out of tune offkey singing which covers the noise of paper crumpling." Bill said feeling more confident. "Perfect plan, Molly. I feel better about it. We practice clown walks tonight. No ball drops on real toes. And what about backup if bounce castle fails?" Molly laughed softly, careful not to draw attention. "Yes. And if things go south I drop a pie on the dad's face. Classic clown move. Everyone freezes laughing then we run. Time for the greatest heist in comedy history to commence. We leave no present unturned. All of them come with us no exceptions. To the presents and the pie!" Bill cheered quietly. "I can't wait to see the look on their faces when gifts are gone and all that remains is confetti and empty tables." They high fived and slipped away, the plan completed as pigeons cooed overhead and the party decorations fluttered in the wind.
