Molly rubbed her temples, checked the party entrance twice, and began composing the least believable excuse currently available to criminals wearing wet shoes outside today. "That is a lie. Molly froze mid sentence, pointed at his boot, and remembered Auntie Disco, the cake, the flashing lights, and the long run home through wet mud. "Please do not put that spoon near the cake. Bill ignored her dramatic warning, polished the spoon on his pants, and began rehearsing the applause he imagined he would never receive tonight with pride. "She was not angry. She was proud.
