Molly and Bill crouched behind a dumpster in the alley, exchanging a scrutinizing glance at the back door of the rec center where a kid's birthday party held inside. Molly, a petite woman with fiery red hair, fiddled with her picks while Bill, a burly man with a shaved head, gave her an anxious look. "G-Money still ain't answered," Bill murmured, checking his phone again. Their usual getaway driver had gone radio silent after hitting up the drag races last night. Molly shot him an annoyed glare, already aggravated from his constant worrying. "Then we'll lift a ride, or bum a ride from Bygonz here," she said, referring to the beat-up sedan they'd hot-wired two towns over. Bill frowned but didn't argue further. They'd planned this job down to the last detail: wait till the party's peak, scoop all the loot, and dash. Easy peasy. As the back door swung open, they leapt into action - Molly jamming the lock-picking device, Bill at the ready to floor it the instant she gave the all-clear. In under a minute, they were inside, plastic bags from Amazon Prime at the ready to stuff the untouched presents billowed before them. A sudden squeal sent adrenaline surging through them both. Molly whipped around to see three gaping pre-teens, candy goo dripping down their chins in open shock. "Well, shit," Molly swore under her breath. "Happy early birthday, kids. Hope you like watching your presents get swiped under that Mickey Mouse cake." She flashed them a vicious grin as she and Bill hurriedly began stuffing the bags. Bill shot her a timer-tick quick worried glance but kept shoveling, piling more and more loot into the bags. Once they hauled it up, they burst back into the alley, tossing the packed sacks into Bygonz's trunk. They barely had the doors slammed when Bill peeled out, tires squealing, and they roared into the night with their shiny new haul - chuckling at the thought of the heartfelt letters those parents must've written which were now left behind, scattered around the party's remnants.|f{endhook}"
