Molly brushed a few loose strands of hair from her face, tucking them behind her ear as she studied the blueprints spread out on the kitchen table. "Let's go over this one more time. We've got the boy's room here on the second floor, directly above the living room. Should be a breeze climbing the trellis." Bill sipped his coffee, the creamer leaving a foamy mustache above his lip. "Heh. Easy as taking candy from a baby. Or was it the other way around?" He shrugged. "Anyway, once we're in his room, we just grab the presents and bail." Molly tapped the blueprint, tracing a line with her finger. "Only catch is getting past the kid's parents. They'll be downstairs with the other yuppie brats and their folks for the first hour at least. That's our window." Bill set down his mug with a clunk, the liquid sloshing over the sides. "Eh, piece of cake. You distract the dad with some sob story about your Chevy needing repairs, I slip past mommy dearest, and bam! We're in like Flynn." Molly shook her head, a wry smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "Flynn? Is that supposed to mean something?" "Sure, it's..." She cut him off with a mocking wave of her hand. "Actually, don't bother explaining. I have a feeling it'll be about as clear as the rest of your brilliant plans." Bill spread his arms, wearing a look of offended bewilderment. "Hey, hey, hey! I'll have you know, this operation is foolproof. Foolproof, I tell you! When it comes to a heist, I'm the cat's pajamas, the bee's knees, the..." "The wind beneath my wings?" Molly quipped, one eyebrow cocked. "Precisely, my dear! Now, tell me, what could possibly go wrong with this simple little job?" Molly sighed dramatically, throwing her head back in exasperation. "Let's see. There's the part where we have to scaling a wall in broad daylight to break into someone's home through a first floor window. And let's not forget about the alarm system, of which we have no knowledge." Bill waved a dismissive hand, a half-cocked grin on his face. "Ah, come now, where's your sense of adventure?" Molly fixed him with a stern glare, her green eyes flashing. "This isn't a game, Bill. If we get caught, we're looking at more than just community service this time." Bill's grin faltered for a moment before he recovered, jutting out his chin defiantly. "Then we won't get caught. Simple as that." Molly opened her mouth to argue further, but paused, considering. They'd been in tighter spots before, after all. And to be honest, these plans of his never failed to amuse, even if she'd never admit it. "Fine," she relented with a exasperated huff. "But you're driving the getaway car."
