Molly slammed the car door, her black leather gloves glistening under the streetlight. "Right, no screw-ups this time. In and out before they even light the candles." Bill adjusted his fake mustache, the spirit gum itching his nose. "I swear, if there's one crying baby in there, I'm hightailing it to Mexico." Molly shot him a look. "We've got to grab all the presents from under the table. Valentine's Day is a bonanza." "Well, I hope pathogens aren't your thing. Last time Little Billy ate something funky and projectile vomited all over my brand new tux." "Only the top tier gifts for us, no riffraff. Let's go." Molly checked her bag of tricks - lock picks, diamond-cutter, cans of tear gas. She smiled, ready for the caper. Theediated drowned out the world, as if they were covered in layers of plastic. It felt electrifying. Between Molly and Bill lay a wall rife with, at least from their perspective, minor imperfections. They could complete the job, the most important goal being the preservation of the heist's sanctity. They moved methodically, their eyes scanning every inch of the wall. Molly focused on unlocking the door, while Bill kept a lookout. Together, they made an impossibly smooth team- the perfect mix of strength and cunning. "Got it." Molly whispered. The lock clicked open and they slipped inside, moving quickly but carefully towards the table laden with presents. Bill took a stack of gift boxes and Molly snatched the biggest ones. They had about two more minutes before they needed to be on their way. But the sound of a crying child, and then another, sent fear prickling their spines. "Change of plans," Bill hissed. "Let's just grab these and go." They threw the presents into their bags and hurried to the door. Clutching the bags over their shoulders, the duo burst out the door and raced to the getaway car. Molly started the engine while Bill tossed their loot into the backseat. "Did we make it?" Bill asked, breathless, as Molly sped down the street. She grinned and held up a huge stuffed teddy bear. "Golden ticket, my friend. They'll be wondering where their gone for a while." Bill shook his head. "We're sick, you know that? Robbing a birthday party? Our next heist is going to have to be more exciting than this." "We're set for Valentine's Day then, Bill," Molly shot back. "Now let's find us a real score, shall we?"
