Molly propped herself up on the rusted fire escape, scanning the festive apartment building across the street. "The plan's afoot, Bill. Can't believe I agreed to this." Bill adjusted his princess crown, the tulle mistakingly glued to his stubble. "Relax, it's foolproof. Kids love magic and I've got more rabbits than a Warren. Just keep an eye out for the brat's parents." Molly shook her head, eyeing Bill's poofy pink dress. "More likely to keep an eye out for the gender-fluid princess who stole a getaway car." "So I favored the little girl's dress." Bill huffed. "Quality costumes come at a price, babe. Where'd you find yours?" Molly smoothed her grimy Mickey Mouse ears. "The kiddie pool. Cost me the change in my piggy bank. You want inbound or outbound, princess?" Bill hopped up, kicking away a crumpled candy bar wrapper. "Nah, we're pros. Inbound and outbound." They waited, stomachs growling in unison. Bill broke first. "You got something in your ass-crack or is that just your registry Brownie?" "Ha ha. In here." Molly produced an oatmeal raisin cookie from her back pocket. She broke it in half. "F ruines are a plenty, partner." Bill scarfed his portion, sugar and salt stinging his tongue. "This is good Cap'n! That was pretty nifty, smacking into the kid's piñata." He rubbed his eye black and blue where the damp cake had smashed. "Counterweight! For the riches!" At least his get-away stick had improved since the last botched heist Wednesday. He picked up his neon pink Daisy bike and settled into the banana seat. Molly climbed into her repurposed Radio Flyer, the child seat cheerfully painted like a race car. The wheelbarrow Ivory Snow scattered across the bed of soiled diapers would come in handy, should their bounty exceed pedestrian expectations. Anything to keep this from going tits up like the incident with Despicable Franco and Candy Adventure back in '07. "Tell me something, Bill. You're a smart cookie. How's any of this gonna fly?" "No duh!" Bill bitched, sticking out his tongue. "It's called having a higher kidnapp kid Bologna!" He pushed off, wobbly, flying down the sidewalk past bodegas and bong shops until the apartment building came into view. "Julie Day Night Hotel. Aren't that cute!* ...smart?" Molly, keeping pace in her pimp-mobile, glared. "The name of the bar, smartass. Last thing we need is the fœificial eye on us." Bill licked his lips and twisted his handlebars to the left and right before coming to an unsteady stop in front of the building. "They think we officially killed it, Mol. Probably already forgot our sagas. Nah, we're gloriously out of sight this time." Before Molly could retort, the party goers began pouring out of the hotel like so many rats from a water-damaged garment rack. Bill and Molly eye-balled the horde, eye on the prize. "Welcname!" Bill said with a lopsided smile as he veered towards a pack of parents-to-be. "I've come to make your parties better!" Molly stayed clear of smelly baby butts, her focus solely on the tower of gift bags and cutesy gifts that begged to be de-lifted. "I've got my eye on this puppies," she muttered, now eyeing the avevano and random loose kids' toys spilling from a paper bag like so much melted sorghum."
