Molly peered out from behind the hedge, surveying the party in full swing. Balloons bobbed gaily and children's laughter rang out as they scampered about the backyard. "I count at least 30 presents piled by the patio, Bill. This'll be our biggest haul yet." Her partner lounged against a tree, picking at his teeth with a toothpick. "Ain't no sweat. I'll sneak in disguised as a clown and charm the rugrats. You be ready to snatch the swag the minute I give the signal." Molly nodded, reaching into her coat for a switchblade. "And what signal would that be, exactly? A honk and a wave?" Bill snorted derisively. "Very funny. I'll be the clown in the garish suit and oversized shoes, genius." Rolling her eyes, Molly hefted the bag slung over her shoulder. "Just don't forget to work on your clown schtick first. We can't have you scaring off the brats with your 'comedy'. Last time you tried, that kid peed his pants." "Hey now, that was a perfectly good gag! Maybe I shoulda left you to handle the distraction..." Bill grumbled as he reached for his own pack of gear. Molly smirked as she crept around the perimeter. "Trust me, Bill - you're much better suited for the role of the fool than I am. Stick to the plan and this job will be a cinch. Now let's go earn ourselves some loot." As she watched Bill shamble up the sidewalk, Molly couldn't help but chuckle to herself. The two had been pulling stunts like this for years, but something about this one filled her with an extra sense of glee and mischief. She was ready for anything. The presents would be theirs soon enough - and the memory of Bill in a clown getup would be priceless. With a grin, Molly settled in to wait for her cue, eager to make their mark once again and snatch up all that sweet, sweet swag. Just two crooks doing what they do best.
