Molly peered around the corner of the building, surveying the party in progress. Colorful balloons bobbed in the breeze. Laughter and squeals of delight drifted on the air. "It's perfect," she murmured. "Too perfect." Bill sidled up beside her, scratching at his stubble. "Whaddya mean? We scoped this out for weeks. It'll be a cinch." She shot him a look. "And pigs can fly. I don't trust it. Why have such an elaborate kids' party out in the open like this? It's fishy." "Aw c'mon Mol, ya worry too much sometimes! The parents'll be too busy playing pin the tail on the donkey to notice a thing. We'll be in and out faster than ya can say 'cake walk'!" Molly bit her lip. Bill was probably right. And there were some mighty fine-looking presents stacked under the table, ripe for the picking. Her palms itched at the thought. "Fine," she relented. "But if we get busted, you're taking the heat. I've got a good thing going with my parole officer, and I'd like to keep it that way." Bill grinned, flashing crooked teeth. "You got it babe. This is our ticket to easy street. Just follow my lead." She shook her head as he crept off with a wink. The man would be the death of her yet. But god help her, she couldn't resist his charms. Molly took a deep breath and plastered on her most disarming smile. Time to play nice with the kiddies and get her sticky fingers on some swag. Just another Tuesday.
