“Are you sure about this?” Molly whispered, eyeing the backyard filled with balloons and laughter. “A children’s party? Really?” Bill grinned, adjusting his tiny black mask. “Exactly. Who’d suspect two ‘clowns’ at a kid’s birthday bash? Plus, look at all those presents. Gold mine.” Molly raised an eyebrow. “Gold mine or nap zone. What’s Plan B when we get caught hiding behind the bouncy castle?” “We don’t get caught.” Bill tapped his watch. “Timing is everything. We slip in during the cake cutting. Everyone’s distracted. We grab the loot and vanish.” “That’s your whole strategy? ‘We don’t get caught’?” Molly snorted. “What about security? Parents? Sugar-fueled toddlers with the attention span of moths?” Bill whispered conspiratorially, “I brought bribes.” He pulled out a bag of gummy bears. “Candy for the little guards. Bribery 101.” Molly shook her head but smiled. “You’re insane. Fine. When do we start?” “Ten minutes. I’ll be the funny clown. You be the balloon twister.
